Special ABS for new applications
In order to meet the most particular requirements of the market, two new special ABS series have been developed:
- Anti-scratch ABS
- Anti-microbial, anti-fungus, and anti-bacteria ABS
The anti-scratch ABS series eliminates expensive post-treatments which were meant to harden the surface of those articles moulded with traditional ABS.
New grades can reach a surface hardness superior than that of SAN and similar to that of PMMA, maintaining the aesthetic and technical characteristics proper of ABS.
Special additives can avoid the spreading of bacteria and microbes on those components which are moulded with our special ABS. The anti-bacteria action not only prevents the reproduction of germs, but also stops the metabolism and respiration of enzymes.

Nanocomposits against pollution.
EEC new laws, always more severe in regards to environment pollution, are imposing reduced limits to gasoline permeation through combustible conduction pipes.
In order to observe these requirements, Dayco Fuel Group, in collaboration with UBE and Maip, has homologated a new system of 5 layer pipe, called ECOBESTA.
Even if each layer has its own specific and important function, the system highly innovative function is the intermediate layer which utilizes a special nanocomposit polyamide to effectively increase the barrier effect and to reduce the permeation of different types of gasoline.
